Saturday was Ethiopian New Year. Happy 2003! They have a different calendar then we do so they're 7 years behind our calendar. Our friend Ethiopia (love that name) invited us to go eat at the Ethiopian restaraunte. So, we got all dressed up and had a delicious Ethiopian meal complete with popcorn and a special bread they only eat on holidays (can't remember the name).
We went at lunch time, so we ended up being the only ones left in the restaraunte once the lunch crowd left. The owner is so kind to us and loves having the kids there. She let them take turns beating the drum while they sang Ethiopian songs.
Such sweet photos! :)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, the girls' hair looks great. Did you learn how to do the cornrows yet or do you have someone else do them? One of my daughters is African-American-Mexican-Caucasian. I'm doing much better with her hair now, but I had to master a lot of hair-care techniques at the beginning. Keep up the good work. You inspire me! :)
