Almost There!

Our friends have seen a mighty work done on behalf of their daughter who waits in Ethiopia.

It has been amazing to watch others not only give, but to sacrifice and advocate for this little beauty.

Almost $20,000 has been given in just 12 days and they are now 73% funded!!!

God is still in the business of working miracles and I have come to expect them.

Each time we've stepped out on behalf of the orphan, widow or vulnerable, God has provided in amazing ways.

This is not prosperity gospel.  This is not waving a magic wand.

This is the heart of God.

A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.
Psalm 68:5

It is also his call to all of his followers.

To all who proclaim that Jesus is Lord.

It is our privileged obligation.

The bible implores us to care for those in need.

Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.
Isaiah 1:17

It teaches that this is what our "religion" should look like.

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
James 1:27

It clearly tells us what to do.

Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.
Psalm 82:3

And when we have acted on behalf of these, the bible tells us, we have done this for Jesus.

"The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'
Matthew 25:40

When I ask you to give to this adoption fund, I'm not asking for Travis and Robin.  They will not see a penny of this money.  It will all be paid as a ransom to redeem this child's life, as Jesus paid the ultimate ransom to redeem ours.

...just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a
ransom for many."
Matthew 20:28

It is our privilege and our obligation to serve children like this and others in need.

We still have a pretty big number to raise ($7,289) and just 2 days to do it.

Travis and Robin have had several people in their community reach out with additional ways to give.

One such way is a furniture raffle.  Please click on the link below for details.

Another local business has donated these super cute t-shirts:

Travis also still has his truck, his golf cart and his jet skis to sell.  Anyone who is interested can message me and I'll get you the details.

And of course the "All in with 10" campaign is still running and donation of any amount are so appreciated.

Can you give $10 and spread the word with this link below?

Thank you to the many supporters who have already joined in this miracle in the making.

God is completely capable of meeting this need.
He could deposit the money directly into their account at any moment.

But many times, he asks people just like you and me to step out in faith.  He invites us to be a part of something bigger than ourselves and he reminds us to

...not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
Hebrew 13:16

And when we do this, He gets the glory.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
